Water Blessing
A beautiful ceremonial Water Blessing opens the festival at 11:00 am at the Marina Pavilion. It is followed by a procession at 11:30 am from the marina to the center of the festival where the music begins at noon.
As we gather by the waters, we will honor the words of Anishinaabe Water Protectors from the Grand Traverse Band. They will lead us in singing the Water Blessing song, followed by prayers for the water by releasing an offering of flowers into the bay.
We are deeply thankful to the Native people of this place for their profound wisdom and their enduring guardianship of these precious waters. We will share our heartfelt thoughts, thanks, and prayers for the water through a gentle offering of flowers, released into the bay.

The Opening Procession
A Procession at 11:30 am will immediately follow the Water Blessing, the route starts from the Marina Pavilion and leads to the center of the festival where the music begins at noon.
