Veronica Wurm is the owner of Design Dance Studio and is owner and co-director with Madelaine Glowicki of the Design Dance Company.
Founded in 2018, the Company aims to empower young artists through extensive art and performance education. Design Dance Company believes in quality dance education based on creativity, focus, and respect for the art form.

Cherry Capital Chorus Since 1966 the Cherry Capital Chorus has had generations of singers that have carried forward a proud northern Michigan barbershop tradition rooted in fellowship, community spirit, and the joy of ringing harmony. What began with a dozen voices gathered at the historic Park Place Hotel quickly grew into a chartered chapter, launching decades of performances, conventions, contests, and beloved community events—from the original June Night of Harmony to today’s Harvest of Harmony. With a mission of “Enriching Our Communities with Great Harmony and Good Works,” the group continues to welcome new singers, celebrate lasting friendships, and share the timeless sound of barbershop music. Grupo Folklórico
Grupo Folklórico Xochiquetzal began with Beatrice Moreno to give the community a little taste of culture to help our Latino community stay connected to their roots. Guadalupe (Lupita) Garcia, her friend, has had experience dancing with the Folklórico group and does the choreography. They launched Folklorico together in Suttons Bay in 2022. Volunteers ranging in age from 7- 45 come together to share their culture and love of music and dance. They perform Folklórico dances from Mexico and Panama. Members of Grupo Folklórico Xochiquetzal are from Suttons Bay, Leland and Northport and have performed at Traverse City Public Schools, the Milliken Auditorium and the Old Mission Peninsula.
1959 Water Walk by John Cage
Bob Sloan is an author, playwright, retired teacher, and man of the theater whose work includes detective novels featuring NYPD detective Lenny Bliss, produced plays at the New York Fringe Festival, humor writing, cookbooks, and essays on family life. An amateur aficionado of Marcel Duchamp, Bob has long been drawn to John Cage’s exploration of chance in the creative process, making his re-enactment of Cage’s Water Walk a fitting and spirited tribute. He and his wife Randi once catered a dinner party where John Cage and Merce Cunningham were guests of honor—and both had the fish. A longtime summer resident, Bob brings wit, curiosity, and local charm to this performance.
Timeless Tappers
Timeless Tappers grew from a request by families of the Leelanau County 4-H Tiny Tappers for an adult group. Now in their fourth year, these dancers bring together longtime tappers and enthusiastic newcomers who share a love of rhythm, movement, and community. New members are always welcome at their Wednesday gatherings at 1 p.m. at the Friendship Community Center in Suttons Bay.
MWM Co-Creative Partner Dancing
Ashley Nicole Antonov brings MWM Co-Creative Partner Dance to Center Stage at Leelanau UnCaged. Teaching in Traverse City at Bodies in Motion, Ashley carries on the work of the late Mykl Werth, who created a partner dance without prescribed steps or traditional structure. It’s an inviting, accessible way for people of all ages and skill levels to move together to swing, blues, rock, country, or nearly any music. No steps to memorize, no experience required—just two people, the music, and the fun of creating the dance together.
